Program Information and Requirements:

· Migrant education employees and exempt providers must work directly with children age 0-5 a minimum of 15 hours per week  and be employed by the same agency or program for 6 out of the previous 12 months.

· All other providers must work directly with children age 0-5 a minimum of 15 hours per week  and be employed by the same agency or program for 9 out of the previous 12 months.

· All participants must earn less than $60,000 per year (gross individual earnings).

· All professional development hours must be unpaid, non-working hours, except for Component A participants. The 21 hours of CDE-sponsored training can accessed during paid work hours, and may be required employer-sponsored events.

· All stipends and incentives may be subject to adjustment and are based on funding available.

· All participants must hold a child development permit by June 15, 2016 or they will not be eligible for a stipend.

· If a participant is unable to attend a workshop or conference that has been included on their program plan, they must contact the LPC office via email or telephone no later than 24 hours before the scheduled event.  Failure to do so will result in expulsion from the program and no stipend will be given.  In the event of emergency, same-day notification will be allowed.

· The Workshops and Conferences are open to all ECE professionals, however, in the case of capacity limitations, priority will be given to Steps to Quality participants.

· Workshop facilitators and presenters are subject to change.  Changes will not affect the requirements to attend each event.

· All participants must access the Steps to Quality website at least one time per week.  The majority of all program communication and materials will be distributed through the website.

· All participants must complete/update a full Registration form bySeptember 15, 2015 or they will not be eligible for a stipend.

· All participants must print and retain a Certificate of Completion for each web-based program they complete (Teachstone trainings, Secondhand Smoke training).

· Participants recognize that S2Q staff is not required to remind them of due dates and requirements, and failure to complete any aspect of the program by the dates specified may result in being removed from the program.

· The 21 hours of Component A eligible professional growth is separate from the 9 hours of professional growth required in the core program, and hours may not be used twice.

 

CORE REQUIREMENTS (All Years)

· All participants must complete 6 hours of approved advocacy activity prior to June 15, 2016.

· All participants must complete a reflection essay by June 15, 2016.

· All participants must complete all aspects of the program as noted in the core requirements below to receive a stipend.
